 Checking on the HP elitebook 840 g3 specification, the onboard NIC is I219V or I219LM ethernet controller. Please try use the e1d6332.inf for the following version:

1) version 20.7
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25892/Intel-Ethernet-Adapters-Connections-CD

Or

2) version 20.6
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25747/Intel-Ethernet-Adapters-Connections-CD

     If the driver still do not work, it is recommended still to contact notebook vendor HP* for the customized driver for OEM onboard NIC.
