Hi Richard, Since you are referring to it as FPP, I am assuming you have read my papers and seen the videos on FPP. There is no voodoo there, no slight of hand I promise you. I achieve nearly line...

View ArticleRe: How to do NIC teaming (LACP) and VLANs on Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V?
Yes, VLANs are supported on a team interface. You can explicitly configure VLANs on the teamed interface using PROSetCL, but that is not supposed to be necessary. However, you might want to give it a...

What is the CPU utilization at those smaller packet sizes? While SR-IOV is faster in many ways than a virtualized adapter, one must remember that even though the VM is DMAing data directly to and from...

Hi Mark, Thanks for the follow-up. I had already tried adding VLANs to the team interface, and I was aware of the requirement to configure all VLANs (used by VMs) if any are defined at the interface...

Hi mark, Im having the same issues, the only way ive been able to get the NIC to negotiate back to 100Mb/s is to disable the card and then re-enable it. However after a little while it will jump back...

Hi, the CPU utilization is negligible. top shows less than 0.4 % CPU utilization while receiving on each of the six cores. We are, by the way, not using any virtual machine so far. We're running both,...

How are you separating the traffic on the VF's? Do you assign a different VLAN to each, or do you have them on different subnets? thanx, Patrick

Hi Simon, thanx for coming to our site. The fail_over_mac option should definately be set to 1. Is a requirement of the bonding driver, not really of the SR-IOV VF's. thanx, Patrick

Thanks for the reply! Ping me if you want me to test something.

Thanks for the clear answer.Although I would say that fail_over_mac should be 1 because of SR-IOV VFs. Using physical interfaces, you can leave fail_over_mac to the default value.
